Job Description
- We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Cashier. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for handling various financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with financial standards and regulations.
- The ideal candidate should possess excellent organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
- Post customer payments by recording cash, cheque, and credit/debit card transactions on the accounting software.
- Maintain a comprehensive record of all cash, cheque, and credit/debit card transactions for future reference.
- Manage petty cash and disbursements.
- Issue receipts to patients for services rendered by the organization.
- Accurately credit client/patient accounts and debit the cash or cheque control account on the Accounting software.
- Record accounting transactions on the financial reporting software and conduct bank reconciliations.
- Manage an accurate and up-to-date hospital income record by handling bank cheques and documenting relevant transactions.
- Ensure proper documentation of handovers of cash, cheques, and POS printouts.
- Prepare regular (weekly) cash flow reports for management review when required.
- Maintain confidentiality of all patients' and hospital's financial information.
- Lodge cash and cheques into corporate accounts as needed.
- Safely keep custody of cash and cheques received until bank lodgment.
- Ensure the good working condition of POS, cash safe, and other relevant tools used for the role.
The Person
- Minimum academic qualification of an OND in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or any related Degree.
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Working knowledge of accounting and financial concepts and practices.
- Full working knowledge of the Microsoft Office package, especially with spreadsheet software (Excel).
- Excellent communication and people management skills.
- Exceptional oral, written, and presentation skills are required for this role.
