Job Title: Legal Officer

Location: Ogun

Employment Type: Full Time

Key Responsibilities

The officer must ensure that the organization complies with the statutory and corporate governance guidelines and practices as observed in the legal industry.

He or she must provide and use written or oral platforms to brief staff members/management on legal issues and the implication of potential liabilities and suggest possible courses of action

He or she must be able to consider every possible legal problem before making any suggestions and recommendations

The legal officer must make sure that whatever course of action they recommend is in complete compliance with the law.

The officer must work hard to minimize risk for the university.

The legal officer must continuously research legal resources such as codes, judicial decisions, articles, statutes, and more to remain appraised with the current trends in the practice.

Regularly analyze the decisions and actions of the university to identify problem areas, suggest alternative courses of action, and mitigate risk as much as possible.

Provide commercial legal support to all departmental projects and job functions.

Perform other tasks as directed by the university management.

Requirements

Applicants must possess a Bachelor of Law degree with a minimum of second class lower (2:2).

The applicant must have been called to bar with evidence of academic qualification and at least 3 years’ relevant post-qualification experience.

Applicants with first degrees MUST have completed the mandatory one-year National Youth Service. He or she must be God-fearing and have good communication skills.

Job Title: Graphics Artist / Video Editor

Location: Ogun

Employment Type: Full Time

Key Responsibilities

Develop creative and innovative design concepts, layouts, and visual assets for various projects that might include logos, branding materials, social media graphics, website elements, etc.

Utilize industry-standard graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or other relevant tools to create and edit designs.

Conduct research and gather inspiration from various sources to stay informed about design trends, industry best practices, and competitor analysis.

Use the appropriate colours and layouts for each graphic while receiving and incorporating feedback from team members to refine and improve designs.

Edit and manipulate video footage to create visually engaging and cohesive videos for YouTube and other Social media channels.

Understand the narrative and objectives of the video content and develop a storytelling approach through effective sequencing and editing techniques.

Edit and mix audio elements, including dialogue, music, and sound effects, to ensure high-quality audio for video projects.

Work with copywriters and the creative director to produce the final design.

Handle the camera on some occasions and capture footage as and when required for the video content.

Ensure final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and on-brand.

Competitive analysis and making sure to create content according to the latest market trends.

Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Perform other tasks as directed by the Head of Unit.

Requirements

Applicants must possess proven certification in Graphic Design, Multimedia, or related field.

Applicants must have experience as a Video Editor and Graphic Designer with a strong record showcasing video editing and graphic design work.

Proficiency in Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Inkscape, Illustrator etc.) is important for this role.

Applicant must possess a minimum of three (3) years’ relevant experience in similar role.

Job Title: Social Media Manager

Location: Ogun

Key Responsibilities

Managing all social media platforms for the University

Creating, publishing, and sharing engaging content on a regular basis

Responding to comments and creating content

Formulating high-quality novel written and visual content for each social media campaign

Building a social media presence by maintaining a solid online presence

Monitoring and analysing the performance of social media campaigns and posts

Analysing engagement data, identifying trends in clients’ interaction and planning digital campaigns to build community online.

Requirements

Applicants must possess proven certification in Digital Marketing, Social Media Management, SEO, Google Analytics and keyword research tools such as Hootsuite, Buffer, Sprout Social (or any other relevant tools).

Proficiency in content management and copywriting is important for this position.

The applicant must possess a minimum of three (3) years’ relevant experience in a similar role.

Job Title: Technologist

Job Title: Laboratory Assistant

Location: Ogun

Key Responsibilities

Prepare laboratory equipment for upcoming research experiments

Report data and compile information into graphs and documents

Clean and maintain lab equipment

Use testing items and subjects to gather results

Gather data and information from test subjects

Monitor ongoing tests and experiments, noting any differences

Providing administrative assistance and maintaining the work area and equipment.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of Department.

Requirements

Applicants must possess a minimum of OND / NCE from a recognized institution with at least credit result in engineering, applied or pure science disciplines.

The applicant must not be older than 30 years of age as of the date of application and should have evidence of academic qualification with at least 1-year relevant post-qualification experience.

Job Title: Intellectual Property Officer

Location: Ogun

Key Responsibilities

To handle the CU-IPTTO Section

To manage the University’s Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), R&D commercialization, IP sensitization, and capacity building.

Advice in Intellectual Property (IP) formulation and commercialization policies.

Handle the Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer of the University in line the DLi5.3 of the CApIC-ACE projects.

Obtaining trademarks and patent for new products or services presented by the Institution

Relate with external establishments on issues regarding Intellectual Property.

Investigating patent utilization, commercial offensive and defensive value to help make decisions to maintain or abandon patents.

Supports all aspects of the University’s intellectual property program, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets

Evaluates issued patents, prepare or obtain analysis, and ensures management is informed on aspects of intellectual property rights owned by other entities.

Oversee and direct the preparation of copyright registrations and recordation of licenses and agreements.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Director, Covenant University Centre for Research Innovation and Discovery (CUCRID).

Requirements

Applicants must possess a minimum of B.Sc / HND degree in Electrical Engineering, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Physics or a Bachelor of Law.

Applicant must possess at least a second-class lower (2:2) in the mentioned disciplines and must possess a minimum of 3 years’ relevant post-qualification experience. Licenses and certifications for intellectual property will be an added advantage.

Job Title: Information Officer (Radio Station)

Applicants must possess a minimum of B.Sc Degree / HND in Mass Communication, International Relations, Journalism or related field with an experience with live broadcasting.

Job Title: Professional Script Writer

Applicants must be able to revise, edit and develop ideas for new scripts

Applicants must be able to research topics related to a script

Generate creative ideas for scripts, including developing concepts, themes, and storylines with will resonate with target audience.

Conduct research to gather information and insights relevant to the script, ensuring accuracy and authenticity in the portrayal of characters, settings, and themes.

Collaborate with directors, producers, and other creative professionals to refine the script, incorporating feedback and ensuring alignment with the overall vision of the project.

Present script ideas and outlines to producers, executives, or studios, effectively communicating the unique selling points and market appeal of the project.

Revise and rewrite scripts based on feedback from collaborators, producers, or test audiences, continuously improving the script throughout the production process.

Work within tight deadlines, managing time efficiently to deliver high-quality scripts on schedule.

Stay informed about industry trends, market demands, and audience preferences, adapting writing style to meet the evolving needs of the entertainment landscape.
