Job Title: Legal Officer

Key Responsibilities
The officer must ensure that the organization complies with the statutory and corporate governance guidelines and practices as observed in the legal industry.
He or she must provide and use written or oral platforms to brief staff members/management on legal issues and the implication of potential liabilities and suggest possible courses of action
He or she must be able to consider every possible legal problem before making any suggestions and recommendations
The legal officer must make sure that whatever course of action they recommend is in complete compliance with the law.
The officer must work hard to minimize risk for the university.
The legal officer must continuously research legal resources such as codes, judicial decisions, articles, statutes, and more to remain appraised with the current trends in the practice.
Regularly analyze the decisions and actions of the university to identify problem areas, suggest alternative courses of action, and mitigate risk as much as possible.
Provide commercial legal support to all departmental projects and job functions.
Perform other tasks as directed by the university management.
Requirements
Applicants must possess a Bachelor of Law degree with a minimum of second class lower (2:2).
The applicant must have been called to bar with evidence of academic qualification and at least 3 years’ relevant post-qualification experience.

Job Title: Graphics Artist / Video Editor

Key Responsibilities
Develop creative and innovative design concepts, layouts, and visual assets for various projects that might include logos, branding materials, social media graphics, website elements, etc.
Utilize industry-standard graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or other relevant tools to create and edit designs.
Conduct research and gather inspiration from various sources to stay informed about design trends, industry best practices, and competitor analysis.
Use the appropriate colours and layouts for each graphic while receiving and incorporating feedback from team members to refine and improve designs.
Edit and manipulate video footage to create visually engaging and cohesive videos for YouTube and other Social media channels.
Understand the narrative and objectives of the video content and develop a storytelling approach through effective sequencing and editing techniques.
Edit and mix audio elements, including dialogue, music, and sound effects, to ensure high-quality audio for video projects.
Work with copywriters and the creative director to produce the final design.
Handle the camera on some occasions and capture footage as and when required for the video content.
Ensure final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and on-brand.
Competitive analysis and making sure to create content according to the latest market trends.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Requirements
Applicants must possess proven certification in Graphic Design, Multimedia, or related field.
Applicants must have experience as a Video Editor and Graphic Designer with a strong record showcasing video editing and graphic design work.
Proficiency in Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Inkscape, Illustrator etc.) is important for this role.

To handle the CU-IPTTO Section
To manage the University’s Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), R&D commercialization, IP sensitization, and capacity building.
Advice in Intellectual Property (IP) formulation and commercialization policies.
Handle the Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer of the University in line the DLi5.3 of the CApIC-ACE projects.
Obtaining trademarks and patent for new products or services presented by the Institution
Relate with external establishments on issues regarding Intellectual Property.
Investigating patent utilization, commercial offensive and defensive value to help make decisions to maintain or abandon patents.
Supports all aspects of the University’s intellectual property program, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets
Evaluates issued patents, prepare or obtain analysis, and ensures management is informed on aspects of intellectual property rights owned by other entities.
Oversee and direct the preparation of copyright registrations and recordation of licenses and agreements.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director, Covenant University Centre for Research Innovation and Discovery (CUCRID).
