Responsibilities
Lead, supervise, and evaluate the performance of LTL drivers and logistics personnel.
Conduct regular team meetings and training sessions.
Develop driver schedules and ensure optimal staffing levels.
Address and resolve personnel issues and concerns promptly.
Oversee daily LTL operations, including dispatching, routing, and tracking shipments.
Ensure efficient and cost-effective utilization of vehicles and drivers.
Monitor and manage shipment schedules to meet delivery deadlines.
Coordinate with customers and internal teams to handle special delivery requests and address any issues.
Ensure compliance with SOP regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
Prepare for and participate in audits and inspections.
Implement and monitor process improvements to enhance delivery efficiency and reduce costs.
Collect and analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the LTL department.
Ensure all drivers adhere to safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE).
Investigate and address any safety incidents or near-misses promptly.
Serve as the primary point of contact between drivers, logistics staff, and other departments.
Provide regular updates and reports to management regarding LTL operations.
Communicate effectively with customers to ensure high levels of satisfaction.
Job Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics management, with a focus on Less Than Truckload (LTL) operations.
Proven track record of leading and managing logistics teams, including drivers and other personnel.
Experience in dispatching, routing, and tracking LTL shipments in a fast-paced environment.
Strong leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to manage and evaluate the performance of drivers and logistics personnel.
Ability to handle special delivery requests and coordinate effectively with customers and internal teams.
Comprehensive understanding of SOP regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
Experience in implementing and monitoring process improvements to enhance delivery efficiency and reduce costs.
Strong skills in developing and updating standard operating procedures (SOPs) for logistics operations.
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent experience in logistics management may be considered.
Proficiency in logistics software and tools for dispatching, routing, and tracking shipments.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and act on data to improve operations.
