Job Summary
As a grinder, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining the grinding machines and other grinding equipment to prepare fresh ingredients and pepper mixes for production. Your primary duties will involve grinding peppers, spices, or other ingredients according to recipes and portion requirements, ensuring quality and freshness in our food preparation process at all times.
Responsibilities
- Operate grinding equipment to grind peppers, spices, or other ingredients as needed for production.
- Follow recipes and portion requirements to ensure consistency in flavour and texture
- Monitor the grinding process to ensure that ingredients meet quality standards, including freshness, texture, and consistency.
- Inspect ingredients before and after grinding for any signs of spoilage, contamination, or irregularities
- Prepare ingredients for grinding, including trimming vegetables, weighing spices, and ensuring proper storage and handling procedures are followed
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on grinders and other equipment, including cleaning, sanitising, and lubricating parts.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and report any issues to management for repair or replacement
- Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations to ensure the safety and quality of food prepared in the restaurant.
- Follow proper procedures for handling, storing, and disposing of ingredients and food products.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen staff, including cooks, and other team members, to coordinate food preparation activities and ensure timely service
- Communicate effectively and contribute to a positive work environment through teamwork and cooperation
- Work in the capacity of a kitchen assistant as needed
Requirements
- Minimum of senior secondary school certificate
- A minimum of 2 year relevant experience
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes and portion requirements.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed
